It’s possible to create a button (in the page of a database) allowing to create a new page in another database while adding a relation from the page where the button is located to the new page created. This can be done in different ways but one of them has a strange behavior since the creation of a template makes lose a necessary information.

Below are two videos explaining the problem.

• The first video shows 3 ways to create this relationship:

  1. By adding a new page with the relationship
  2. By adding a new page THEN editing the "New page added" to add a relationship to "This page".
  3. By adding a new page THEN editing "This page" to add a relationship to the "New page added".

  All these techniques work but when they are included in a template, the third one doesn't work anymore as soon as you use the template. "This page" information disappears from the button created by the template.

• The second video goes further and shows that adding back the lost information does not restore the function of the button, even when duplicating it. Moreover, if you manually recreate the same button it works!
